The natural response of the cow to udder infection is to
transport white blood cells (neutrophils and macrophages) to
the site of infection.
The better the blood flow to the area, the more bacteria killing
cells are available to combat infection. The quicker these cells are
mobilised, the more chance the cow has of achieving a self cure without
additional treatment with antibiotics etc.
Mint oil has been used for many years in many countries as a
traditional remedy for bruising and muscle tension and improves blood
flow by dilation of the capillaries. UDDERMINT has therefore been found
to be very useful for udder infections and oedema. It also has an
analgesic effect, soothing and softening the udder and making it easier
to milk.
